It is with great pride that we celebrate 30 years of our Agencies and our Safaris. In 1993 in a small office in Clarence Street Sydney we commenced “Natural Focus Safaris” and “Journeys Unlimited”. Although in 2000 we changed Natural Focus’ name to Wildlife Safari Consultants, throughout the thirty years it has been the same owner and same levels of service.
We have no idea exactly how many clients we have assisted during this time in realising their travel dreams, but it is in the thousands. Journeys Unlimited has had clients travel to every corner of the globe. Wildlife Safari Consultants ( + N.F.S.) has always focussed on delivering wildlife safaris and exotic travel to Africa and India, for both small groups and individual travellers.
Since travel has resumed for most of the globe we have been very busy with our Journeys Unlimited clients travelling to North America, Europe, the Pacific, much of Asia and to areas of South America.
Wildlife Safari Consultants has experienced a slower recovery and while we have already assisted individual clients to various parts of Africa, our group tours have not been attracting attention – we believe folk have been cautious about returning to more remote areas during 2022, so as we enter 2023 we are offering some selected small groups.
We have two small group tours this year (full itineraries available: www.wildlife-safari-consultants.net/group-tours-2023)
October – Madagascar….. what can we say. For almost 25 years Dennis has been travelling to Madagascar regularly and rates it as one of his favourite destinations. The combination of unique natural history, with animals, birds and plants found nowhere else on earth, it delivers rewarding experiences at every turn. But more than this, the people. Madagascar has 18 different ethnic sub-groups, all with varying cultural experiences and history. They are friendly and welcoming, making travel there a rewarding experience. Great food (influenced by its French history) adds a finishing touch to the trip. Just everything about Madagascar is a delight. After so many visits and many small group tours, we believe we offer an itinerary that results in our clients saying it is possibly the most amazing place they have ever visited. Please consider joining us to Madagascar this October.
November – Northern India. For those who have never travelled to India before, we find their expectations to be so at-odds with the reality of this vast nation. India has many, many, different faces and experiences and this small group tour is one which we have personally designed and we haven’t seen anyone else offering the same experience. Travelling from the Punjab in the north-west, through to Assam in the north-east, this tour skirts the base of the Himalayas. Rich cultural and historic experiences are our prime focus, but we certainly add in a little wildlife ! Legendary sites include : The Golden Temple at Amritsar : the Wagah Border ceremony (India versus Pakistan in pomp and circumstance) : Rishikesh on the Ganges and home to the Beatles’ Ashram experiences : Lucknow – full of history from the British raj, but one of Rick Stein’s favourite “foody” heavens (which we will experience) : Assam – Kaziranga National Park (famous for rhinos and tigers and one of the most beautiful locations in all of India), tribal folk and tea plantations : Darjeeling which is not only famous for tea, but views of the Himalayas and the quaint “toy-train” ride through the foothills : to finish, Kolkata which is a very different Indian city. We have focussed on variety in the sights and activities for this program, but especially on experiencing some of the cuisine of these very different regions. Guided “food-tours” are included in quite a few locations, along with some “home-cooking” demonstrations. From our many years of operating groups to India we have learnt that having a “National Guide” accompany us throughout really makes a difference, so this tour will have such a guide from beginning to end.
Both of these tours will be personally escorted by us. We hope you might join us on one of our groups or allow us to design an itinerary specifically for you.
We wish you an enjoyable and safe 2023.
