The Masai Mara - whether you visit in the height of the wildebeest migration or not, "The Mara" delivers outstanding wildlife experiences. While being there during the migration is spectacular, we recommend that throughout the year this is a wildlife reserve that will exceed your expectations.
Game viewing here encompasses all species, but of special note is that this is home to some of the last free-ranging Black Rhino in East Africa. Also its black-maned lions are spectacular to see up close. From reasonably priced lodges to exclusive camps, the Mara has it all.
While it is possible to travel from Nairobi and the northern areas by road to the Masai Mara, we highly recommend flying there and back - a one hour flight from Nairobi's Wilson Airport with Safarilink (our preferred carrier) and no troublesome roads (especially after the rainy season).
