Just an hour south of the Taj Mahal at Agra is the town of Dholpur. Few people visit here, but they are missing wonderful experience .... staying at the Hotel Raj Niwas Palace. First class accommodation, wonderful meals and a local town that has such rich history and monuments that it is a destination in its own right. A great alternative to Agra hotels.

Rhinos

It's getting harder and harder to find rhino in the wild as poaching is definitely on the increase. It seems that over 600 rhino were poached in South Africa in 2012 - a staggering increase over the previous year.

In India, Kaziranga National Park has lost 5 rhino in the month of January (2013).

While it is still possible to see truly wild rhino, the options of where to go are slimming and so are the numbers of these remarkable animals.
