The Botswana Government has decided to levy a US$30.00 "Tourism Development Levy" on every International Arrival (SADC countries excepted) commencing 1 June 2017. This is valid for unlimited entries during the following 30 days.
Botswana is already probably the most expensive Safari destination in Southern/Eastern Africa and the tourism sector is already taxed in many ways.
This direct levy is just adding to the cost of this destination ...... making Botswana less and less affordable for the average Australian safari goer.
